“Pink Noises”, Mondonero’s round table on gender interference

“Pink Noises”, Mondonero’s round table on gender interference

Emanuele D'Angelo · 6 months ago · Music

We have a little reminder for you, tomorrow on Mondonero – a non-profit web community platform based in Milan – will be staging a day of live shows, DJ sets and a round table where we will delve into the role of women in the music industry.

Directly from Sicily, precisely from the Palazzina dei Quattro Pizzi in Palermo from 15 to 21 an important and significant event that you can not miss.
Music and women will be the protagonists of the round table entitled: “Pink Noises, new frequencies beyond the interference of gender”.

“Pink noises: new frequencies beyond gender interference aspires to be an instructive and stimulating discussion, a snapshot of the current scenario, in which the innovative force behind the development of music also belongs to women. Music as a form of language, a mirror of change able to bypass gender barriers to finally rewrite the new rules of the game.”

To animate the debate there will be four voices of the Sicilian music scene: Oriana Guarino, label manager for Believe Music; Lucia Lauro, musician, social entrepreneur and founder of the movement “Siciliane”; Emilia Callari, DJ and station manager of channel 2 of the web community platform; Gaia Blandina, musician and performer.
To moderate the event focused on the role of women in the music industry, Dr. Benedetto Gramasi, scholar of gender & cultural studies.

The non-profit web community platform Mondonero has decided to take us on a journey to discover the role of women in the music industry, taking inspiration from the work of American writer Tara Rodgers who shows how genderism creeps into the most hidden folds of our culture, preventing the very confrontation with the mystery of interference.

An extremely important journey, in search of both answers but also solutions that you can hear throughout the day tomorrow in live streaming here, so don’t miss out!

The aerial and conceptual photography by Brad Walls

The aerial and conceptual photography by Brad Walls

Tommaso Berra · 6 days ago · Photography

The popular photographer Brad Walls presented “Detached, in Harmony”, his latest series of photographs inspired by the past two years of pandemic.
The point of view is aerial, which distinguishes all of Walls’ artistic production. In this latest project we don’t have the sensation of looking at the scene through a mechanical eye but with an impersonal gaze that observes women in colorful costumes moving in a desert. The blue sky annuls the depth of the background, while the space is defined only by the choreography of the subjects, and by the shadows that the sun casts on the sand. The bodies become mannequin and all distances are studied and symmetry cancels the spontaneity of movements.

Brad Walls’ “Detached, in Harmony” is one of the few cases of conceptual aerial photography. Not using a handheld camera for conceptual shots is an unusual choice, but it helps represent the emotional distance experienced by the artist during the pandemic.
“The figures are purposefully static, to symbolise how we have been frozen in time over the past 18 months.” commented Walls.
Detached, in Harmony’ placed second in the 2021 Fine Art Photography Awards ‘Conceptual’ category, and placed silver in both the prestigious PX3 awards and Moscow Fine Art Awards of 2021. The artist currently plans to exhibit ‘Detached, in Harmony’ in a solo exhibition in 2022.

Check out the artist’s work on his official website.

The expressions of the human body in the shots of Ophelia

The expressions of the human body in the shots of Ophelia

Collater.al Contributors · 2 days ago · Art, Photography

For some people photography is a hobby, for others, it can also become a profession, but first and foremost it is a form of expression and incredible discovery.
For Feli, aka Ophelia, photography has been gaining importance over time, and for the past year or so it has become part of her daily routine, but for a long time it was simply a seductive and fascinating art form.

Ophelia is 25 years old and lives in Hamburg, Germany. While studying to become a psychotherapist, she plays with analogue photography and creates intriguing portrait photographs.

Her photographic style is intimate, poetic and welcoming, putting the human body at the center of the discourse and using an essential aesthetic to tell the story of the purity of human emotions. The protagonists of her photographs communicate through their bodies, looks and expressions and convey opposite and complementary feelings.

For Ophelia, bodies offer infinite perspectives, variations and possibilities of abstraction. Portraying them in a photograph means emphasising their importance and reflecting their beauty and uniqueness.

The editorial and modern shots of Dilyusa Gimadeeva

The editorial and modern shots of Dilyusa Gimadeeva

Collater.al Contributors · 2 days ago · Photography

Dilyusa Gimadeeva, better known as @dilyusa.photo on Instagram, is an extraordinary Russian photographer. Her work sees her engaged in fashion, including editorial photography, look books and photo campaigns for fashion brands.

It is precisely in this aspect that her incredible creativity makes its way: Dilyusa seems to mix the laws of photographic technique with instinct and artistic improvisation. A difficult fusion.

Her shots seem to be taken on an unknown planet, they are perfect compositions, studied in detail, halfway between vintage and modern.

Her models, struck by an electric and dazzling light, are the undisputed subjects of his photographs. They are, at the same time, protagonists and interpreters of the scene.

Dilyusa has taken editorial shots for fashion magazines such as Rebel Magazine, Flanelle Magazine, Wonderzine and Harper’s Bazaar.

Follow her on Instagram and support her work.
