Twenty years on from the Sally Carrera project, Porsche and Pixar have announced the arrival of a new customised model, to be created in collaboration with the production company’s animation team and Porsche designers.
The Porsche 911 will be the return of a partnership that brought the blue model to cinemas in 2006 as the star of the blockbuster Cars
The two creative teams will be working over the coming months on a unique model, which will be sold at auction, with the proceeds going to two charities supporting children’s education.

The announcement came at South by Southwest, a music and film festival based in Austin, Texas. During the event, the model built for the film premiere, born from the imagination of animators Bob Pauley and Jay Ward, was on display.
The new supercar builds on Pauley and Ward’s careful study of the shapes in 2006, starting with the “sally blue” colour scheme and its contrast with the red rocks of Radiator Spring, the town where Lightning McQueen’s adventures take place in the film Cars.
What’s new is that for the first time the interior of the Sally Carrera will also be made in white with blue details, for a model that will maintain the soul of the film and the luxury of Porsche models.
