Raheem Sterling in Gillette’s new campaign

Man has always been in constant search of models of behavior, of people to be inspired by, to aspire to. This was so in Ancient Egypt, it continued to be so for centuries and centuries during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and so on, continuing to be so even now.

Nowadays each of us has a figure, no matter whether he is a sportsman, an intellectual, a politician or an artist, who he has raised to his own idol, who not only inspires himself but desperately needs him. It is precisely this need to have people of reference that Gillette was inspired to create the latest “Made of What Metters” campaign.

And what better face for such a campaign than Raheem Sterling, the Manchester City striker who has become a true symbol against racism, on and off the pitch.

If someone asks you what you’re made of.
Don’t just tell them.
Show them.

Once again Gillette uses advertising as a means of conveying healthy values and principles, those that a real man should have and follow.
