Short video for Breakfast – Scary Prairie, when pop art, horror and west come together

Short video for Breakfast – Scary Prairie, when pop art, horror and west come together

Andy Warhol has got us used to seeing them through the eyes of pop-art, but nobody had ever thought of making them the protagonists of a Japanese horror film set in the west that, as if that weren’t enough, also winks its eyes at pop art.

Scary Prairie, by animator Erik Winkowski with Billy Lilly‘s music, is a slightly crazy short video in which a bold Elvis Presley tries to save a beautiful Marilyn Monroe from a series of monstrous attacks.

Between aliens, Godzilla, UFO, military and bombing, and in a general chaos, the bad guys will be another.

Mark Jenkins and Rero are two of the most important contemporary urban artist, best-known and highly appreciated worldwide. Both their works, although using different techinics and languages, have the same energy and forcefulness for context interactions and communication with the public.

The hyper-realistic sculptures of people, animals and objects by one side and the words, phrases and geometrical primitive on the other side, increase, at the same time, the perception of the observer. The Jenkin’s surreal sculptures give us an unusual thought on social and politic themes, on the other side the Rero’ site art, denying the images and bringing out the language of contradiction in public spaces or in natural wild landscape.

Mark Jenkins and Rero are back to Wunderkammern in Milan some years after their solo exhibitions in Rome. The two artists present the evolution of their artistic research in relation to the concept: Rules of Engagement.

Building on these concepts, the artists explore the mechanisms of the formalisation of emotions in our contemporary culture. For the show a series of mixed media artworks will be exhibited, as well as some four-handed installations developed jointly by the two artists.

Short video for Breakfast – Memo, a touching short film about Alzheimer

Short video for Breakfast – Memo, a touching short film about Alzheimer

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

Memo is the story of something that is frightening.
Memo is a fate that can touch anyone.
Memo are more lives that change because of the same evil, at the same time.

Memo, the touching short film about Alzheimer by the Gobelins animation school, tells with extreme sensitivity the story of a man who, despite his illness, tries to carry on his life without the help of his daughter and, at the same time, the story of a daughter who, worried about his father, tries to make life easier for him by scattering through the house little cards that help him in carrying out his normal activities.

All set in one district during a single day, the short touches the most frightening and saddening moments of the disease, giving a final that brings back the smile.
