Nobody’s home, Sebas Velasco’s solo show at Galleria Varsi

June 9th 2018 Galleria Varsi presents Nobody’s home, the first solo-show of the Spanish street artist Sebas Velasco.
His artistic journey, which ends in the Roman gallery, begins in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, dear to him since he was a child.

When I was a child, I always chose Yugoslavia as my videogames team, maybe because I liked its name.”

Nobody’s home tells, without prejudices or political positions, suggestions, reminiscences and memories of contradictory places, where socialism and consumerism live together in a jubilation of concrete and neon lights, where emotional solitude is widespread, where nights are dark, but also where everyday life and traditions explode with music, football and politics.

Velasco begins his story with a series of old photographs found during his travels and transforms them, with his typical realism, into something visible with the eyes of the present.
