The simple and delicate sketches by Marcos Severi

As it often happens now, we discovered Marcos Severi and his works by navigating distractedly on Instagram. Between one photo and another we found ourselves in front of a simple pencil sketch: between neat rows of shoe footprints, the footprints of two bare feet peep out, once free from the constraint of shoes, they have the courage to take their way and abandon the mass. What better way to represent modern society? Homologation? The tendency to become exactly like everyone else?

Marcos Severi was born in Argentina on October 1st, 1976 and now lives and works in Buenos Aires, where he graduated in Fine Arts. His art ranges from more detailed and colorful illustrations to simple pencil sketches. It is precisely the latter that have left us speechless, Marcos’ cartoons do not need explanations or captions, they get straight to the point in a direct and delicate way at the same time.

The blank sheet of paper is as important as the few elements are drawn that deal with themes such as loneliness, love, life’s obstacles, differences.

We have selected only some of his works, but to find out more visit Marcos Severi’s website and his Instagram profile
