Solaroca is an installation, conceived by the artists’ collective OPAVIVARÁ!, designed and realized by Bambutec Design architects.
The project recreates an environment similar to a beach under the roof of a geodetic structure in bamboo and multicolored umbrellas.

It is true that summer is almost over, but in the beach of Marina Da Glória in Brazil you can still relax, in the shade maybe reading a good book.

Solaroca was made for the International Art Fair of Rio de Janeiro – ArtRio, the colors chosen for the umbrellas are not random, but they were chosen according to the 8 shades of the LGBTQ+ flag.

An installation in full Carioca style, colorful and fun with the aim of occupying public spaces in a bold and different way.
In all, 110 beach umbrellas were used.

The structure is mobile and self-supporting without the need for heavy foundations, it is fixed to the ground with light steel anchors.
The dome was formed using treated bamboo poles, based on a 2V geodetic structure.
