The Inclume studio has perfected its latest installation entitled “Stellar” in Lincoln Cathedral. An architectural light installation that uses a perforated box to create a magical beam of light.

An almost magical portal of amazement and wonder, to be admired when the sun begins to set. A creation that entices passers-by to investigate its source, leading them to discover the hidden and unlit spaces around the cathedral.

The pierced natural stone pillars echo the vertical architecture of the cathedral in a refined and compact design.

Inclume is a creative architectural design studio.
Its works span a variety of scales and disciplines, ranging from customized residential, cultural, working and educational architecture to installation, interior, exhibition and product design, as we discovered with Tetra, a sustainable boat.

“Stellar” with its projections and beams of light evokes the comparison with the night sky. The intrinsic simplicity of the constituent parts allows viewers to focus on the light emitted and the shadows formed, whose effects can be compared to those of the church stained glass windows.

When the viewer moves around the installation the shadows are transformed, creating a playful and joyful interaction in an artificial “enclosure”. The goal of the studio is that the installation can transport us on an almost mystical afterlife journey.
