Studio Ghibli has just brought back an item that many will recognize and that will thrill fans of anime and Japanese design: the Kanpai with Porco sake set, inspired by the cult film Porco Rosso by Hayao Miyazaki. This porcelain set is a refined tribute to the film’s vintage aesthetic and its protagonist, the most iconic pig pilot in Japanese animation.

The set includes a tokkuri (sake bottle) and an ochoko (sake cup), both crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The tokkuri replicates the wine bottle seen in the film, with a label depicting the Savoia S.21, Porco’s seaplane, and the Italian phrase Così è un modo proprio elegante (“This is a truly elegant way”), along with the film’s release year. The ochoko, on the other hand, is shaped like Porco’s face, complete with mustache and sunglasses, turning every toast into a stylish gesture.

Made of porcelain, the set is both microwave and dishwasher safe, combining practicality and design. With a capacity of 200 ml for the tokkuri and 35 ml for the ochoko, it’s perfect for tasting. After being out of stock for about seven years, the set is now available again at the price of 4,950 yen (around 35 euros).

A collector’s item for those who love the Ghibli aesthetic and want to bring a touch of cinematic poetry into their daily routine. Because, in the end, toasting with Porco isn’t just a gesture — it’s a statement of style.
