Forget for a moment the exaggerated tattoos of Veks Van Hillik and Steve Butcher. Close your eyes and get lost in a flowering field, some small leaves fall from the trees, the grass touches your ankles. Some flowers stick to your skin and thanks to the ethereal tattoos of Rit Kit they will never come off again.
You can find her on Instagram as @rit.kit.tattoo, the Ukrainian tattoo artist who answers to the name of Rita Zolotukhina. Today she lives and works in Kiev and is known all over the world thanks to her tattoos that perfectly reproduce leaves and flowers.
Entering her studio, customers find themselves choosing from a sample of plants, then, without any preparatory drawing, she goes on to create directly on the skin. The only fundamental step, on which all the art of Rit Kit is based, is the one that involves dipping the leaf, flower or twig chosen in the ink and, as if it were a stamp, transfer it to the skin. The rest is due to the impeccable skill of the Ukrainian tattoo artist, who faithfully reproduces every grain and every nuance.
Her works are so hyperrealistic that sometimes it is difficult to distinguish the original from the tattoo. The final result is ethereal, dreamlike and best represents the lightness, but also the fragility of nature.
