The Florida Project is Sean Baker’s new film. It is set near Disneyworld in Florida and narrates the story of three children who want to discover life. The plot is simple but the director did not produce an ordinary film: the entire movie is seen from the children’s point of view so we perfectly feel that sense of naiveness that characterizes childhood. Another important side of The Florida Project is photography which highlights saturated colors that transform the movie into a vivid childhood dream.

The Florida project will arrive in Italy at the end of this month, in the meantime, lets see the trailer.

Miguel Rothschild’s suspended ocean waves

Miguel Rothschild’s suspended ocean waves

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

Miguel Rothschild, a multidisciplinary artist born in Buenos Aires and now in Berlin, manages to work with a wide variety of different means, creating installations that play with the perception of the viewer aiming at his amazement.

His site-specific installations make full use of photography, sculpture but above all fabrics, those that best lend themselves to making his ideas real.
Two of his last works, Elegy and De Profundis, use them to mimic the movement of the ocean, stopping its waves, suspending them in the air or rolling them down as if they were following a road made of stairs.

Everything, even the cables he uses to create these games, manages in some way to emphasize that idea of saving nature he carries on with his art, impersonating rays of sun or raindrops.

Paolo Beghini’s conceptual illustrations

Paolo Beghini’s conceptual illustrations

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

A past at the High School of Technology, the awareness of not wanting to wear a white lab coat for a lifetime, a great passion for drawing and a sea change that allowed him to transform a hobby in his work.
He is the illustrator Paolo Beghini, a 25 year old young man from Imola, who after his scientific experience chose first the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino and then to specialize himself as a communication and multimedia technician with an IFTS course in Bologna.

Like so many illustrators before him, Paolo believes that his work is not simply artistic and creative but a means to communicate a concept understandable to a large public.

Here you can find a selection of Paolo’s illustration, but you can find all of them here.

Perspéntico, the big blue cat by street artist Liqen

Perspéntico, the big blue cat by street artist Liqen

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Art

A few months ago, in the city of Porto, more than 60 artists took part in the Verão é no Porto, an initiative of PortoLazer to give summer patrons the opportunity to live in a different way the characteristic Portuguese city.

Among these, there is also the street artist Liqen who, to pay homage to the city, has moved away from his usual complex style while managing to maintain the typical features of his art.
Perspéntico, this is the name that he wanted to give his big blue cat, a color chosen to take up the iconic Azulejo of ceramics, is located inside the smallest street in Porto, which, for reasons of size, forces the viewer to get closer to discovering his work in its entirety.

Perspéntico, who on his shoulders supports the weight of a city, wants to demonstrate how nature is much stronger than everything we build, stronger than the technology we use and, through the symbol of the skeleton of a tourist, also expresses the artist’s opinion on globalization.
