At a point in the Namibian desert that has not been revealed, German artist Max Siedentopf has created one of the most durable installations ever made. The project is called TOTO FOREVER and the aim is to make Africa, the famous Toto song released in 1982, resonate.

To concretely create this sound installation, 6 speakers and an mp3 with only the Toto song loaded were needed. The whole system is powered by solar energy that should power the mp3 forever.

We hope that Max’s work will withstand high temperatures, sandstorms and really last forever.

“Set in the Namib desert, which is not only the oldest desert in Africa but the world, I set up a sound installation which pays tribute to probably the most popular song of the last four decades: Toto – Africa”
