The international creative collective TeamLab has created, for the Pace Gallery in London, an interactive and immersive installation entitled Transcending Boundaries.
The work is formed by two different artworks. The first entitled Universe of Water Particles, represents a virtual cascade across the entire gallery. Water as a living entity that immerses the viewer and suggests an intrinsic link with nature.
The second titled Flowers Bloom on People, a series of floral projections that appear in relation to the Movements of the spectators, and transform their bodies in a series of paintings for the screenings. The ever-changing and growing flowers.
The works break the boundaries between exhibition space and work of art and explore the role of digital technology that transcends the physical and conceptual boundaries. The central idea then becomes the representation of a space devoid of perspective, in which the viewer is located to move and get lost, thus creating a direct relationship with the works.
