When loneliness assails us there is nothing that can cure us.
Isaiah Saxon, one of the founders of the animation studio Encyclopedia Pictura, knows this well and for this reason, he dedicated his last animated short film, Earth Crisis, to this state of mind.
A woman lives completely isolated from the world, in a small house hidden in the mountains, alone with her dog. Although most of us would not be able to conceive such a life, far from everything and everyone, the woman does not need anything else to feel happy.
One day, however, something unexpected happens and a sense of deep loneliness comes flooding in every moment of the day. There is nothing that can be done, the strength to fight it can only come from us.
Earth Crisis aligns perfectly with today’s situation, in which we are all experiencing both isolation and loneliness on our skin, but what is surprising and sad is the fact that Isaiah Saxon was working on this short long before the pandemic and lockdowns.
But Isaiah wants to give us a little hope to hold on to.
