To say goodbye to the year that is drawing to a close, perhaps one of the most absurd and unhappy in history, Twitter has decided to focus on humor and has launched a new and ironic advertising campaign.
It is entitled “Tweeting through the pain” and stems from the idea that, through the social network and its 280 characters available, it is possible to exorcise pain with sarcasm and be able to move on more easily.
For this event, the most ironic and funny tweets from users were selected from over 6 million messages. These were turned into huge billboards and then placed at strategic points in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Oakland.
Twitter thus left it up to the users and greeted 2020 with satire and sarcasm.
