“Useless Bodies?”, is the title of the exhibition opened yesterday at Fondazione Prada by the acclaimed Berlin-based artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset.
More than 3000 square meters of space in Milan where the artists have exhibited their works that encourage the viewer to reflect on the concept of body and physicality in the post-industrial era.
The sculptures that have “invaded” Fondazione Prada almost seem to be ghosts, phantoms that relate perfectly within the spaces of the foundation characterized by a sort of detachment and imperturbability due to the colors and materials of the many rooms that house the exhibition.
Distributed in four different galleries of Fondazione Prada, “Useless Bodies?” aims to examine how the perception of the body and physicality has changed in our contemporary world. The audience is stimulated to try to give a new value to the everyday as well as question their own role both in the public and in the tried.
“Useless Bodies?” by Elgreen & Dragset in Fondazione Prada will be on view through August 22, 2022.
