The Wutopia Lab is a Chinese architecture studio we had previously talked about during the project “His House and Her House”, which you find here. The new work is already enjoying great success: this time it’s a striped house that plays a lot with optical-illusion effects, which is actually a tourist information center located in Qinhuangdao, China.

The project was designed with the intention of renewing the offices that started from a structure designed with semi-transparent glass as if it were a sort of translucent box. Studio has created a solid wall that surrounds the building, without oppressing it, leaving space for the existence of an internal courtyard between the two layers.

The color of blue and the style were inspired by the near ocean, the same applies to striped pattern, which in turn was softened by the circular window.
