The graphic novel about the life of Yayoi Kusama

Giulia Guido

From her first steps in the world of art to the discovery of her famous polka dots, from her move to New York to exhibitions in the most famous museums in the world, from her return to Japan to her latest collaborations, Yayoi Kusama‘s life can be considered a work of art and for this reason Laurence King Publishing, a leading English publisher of books dedicated to the creative arts, has dedicated a new graphic novel to her that retraces her life.

Entitled KUSAMA: The Graphic Novel, the book is part of the publisher’s Graphic Lives series, a series dedicated to the lives of some of the world’s most famous artists and which has already seen the publication of two graphic novels that, respectively, explore the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jackson Pollock.

KUSAMA: The Graphic Novel is written and illustrated by Elisa Macellari, a Thai-Italian illustrator who lives in Milan and among her clients there are names such as The New York Times, Cartoon Network, Sony Pictures Italia, Corriere della Sera, Feltrinelli and many others.

KUSAMA: The Graphic Novel will be on sale on Laurence King Publishing’s website from September 15 for $19.99.
