With a passion for storytelling, Atlanta-based Chinese illustrator Yuanhao Tang has built a successful career in publishing, creating illustrations for books, magazines and product campaigns. His use of flat colours and graphic strokes have always set him apart. Yuanhao’s style has evolved over time. Initially, his work was highly detailed and painterly, but he has discovered the power of his stroke, which he now emphasises. Influenced by the picture books of his grandparents and artists such as Moebius, Kilian Eng, Yuko Shimizu and Tomer Hanuka, Yuanhao‘s illustrations balance large spaces and detailed areas, creating a sense of mystery and magic.

With a strong intention to represent his home community in China and Asian artists in general, Yuanhao aims to spread happiness and positivity through his art. He believes in the responsibility of artists to inspire and bring joy to their audiences. Focusing on community-oriented projects and personal growth, Yuanhao Tang continues to capture viewers’ attention with his imaginative and inspiring illustrations. Inspired by personal and family experiences, Yuanhao is currently working on a project dealing with disability issues.
