By now we see them everywhere. Some would no longer be able to write a message without it, others might say that they represent a true method of universal communication. Emoji have now officially replaced words or whole sentences and could not help but become part of the world of art. Yung Jake, the stage name for Jake Patterson, is a young American artist who studied at the University of Cal Arts. Lately, he has made a lot of talk about himself thanks to his artistic creations made of emoji. Yes, using emoji.ink, an application developed by his friend and partner Vince McElvie, Yung Jake manages to make extremely realistic portraits of celebrities from the world of music and entertainment. The mechanism is very similar to that of Seurat’s Pointillism and by playing with colors and combinations he manages to create extremely pop artworks. To see them it would seem easy to create similar works if you want to try you have to do nothing but go on emoji.ink, but if you need a little more inspiration take a walk on the Yung Jake’s Instagram profile.
