Julian Callos è un giovane illustratore filippino che vive e lavora a Los Angeles, diplomato all’Otis College of Art & Design.
Il lavoro di Julian è perennemente in bilico tra una leggerezza innocente e una oscurità morbosa. Raschiando la superficie luminosa e disneyana delle sue illustrazioni, il sogno colorato e recintato inizia a cadere a pezzi e rivela territori ambigui e misteriosi. La morte, il disagio e una malinconia drammatica, vengono esplorati mentre scioglie e ridisegna pensieri che in ognuno di noi rimangono attorcigliati. Occhi spalancati verso l’interno.

So it’s also about dealing with uncertainty, and the idea that even if you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, you’re all the better for having tried to find them in the first place.“
