It happened a week ago on the island of Nusa Penida, off the coast of Bali, the German street artist crew 1UP created the first underwater murals. Yes, thanks to the help of several institutions including the PangeaSeed Foundation, Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans and the Coral Guardian, 1UP was able to design and then concretely create their perfect tag to survive underwater.

From a concrete point of view, the skeleton of the structure was made of metal and placed on the seabed. Then live coral was placed around the entire scaffold.

The objective, in addition to denouncing the not so slow disappearance of the coral reef from the oceans, and also to create an artificial one that, however, promotes the growth of coral and generate new marine life.

The 1UP crew act is a perfect example of how art can be a means of denunciation and awareness, in a unique and original way.
