Since its founding in 2014, Aimé Leon Dore has always expressed, both aesthetically with its collections and through its communication, the roots, background, and references that helped Teddy Santis build the new-preppy brand symbolic of New York City today.

Basketball is certainly one of the pivotal points around which Aimé Leon Dore’s aesthetic moves, one only has to think of artist Tyrrel Winston’s installation, consisting of a grid of deflated basketballs, on the wall of the brand’s London flagship, or the brand’s many campaigns where even if for a moment a basketball always finds a place.
That’s because New York City is the city of basketball in the United States, there are the most famous playgrounds in the world, such as Rucker Park in Harlem, where almost all the biggest names in NBA history, such as Kevin Durant for example or the late Kobe Bryant, have measured their street-basketball level.
A few days ago, Aimé Leon Dore unveiled his latest capsule collection in collaboration with New Balance that reflects everything mentioned so far.
A collection entirely inspired by the game with a capital G-as Aldo Giordani, a guru of Italian sports journalism, thanks to whom basketball really reached everyone and who passed away in 1992, used to say and write-that made with New Balance.
