Born in 1980, Alberto Polo Iañez lives in Barcelona but the island of Palma de Mallorca, where he was born, is still part of him and especially of his work. 

Alberto began taking photographs as a teenager, approaching analogue photography at a time when digital photography was literally exploding, and in his work we can relive the atmosphere on his native island. 

The uncontaminated landscapes, the nature that reaches as far as the beach, the calm and tranquillity typical of places that have never known urban chaos. But one element above all others has influenced and continues to influence his style: light. 

The warm light that welcomes those who visit Palma de Mallorca and characterises the lives of those who live there all year round is the undisputed protagonist of Alberto Polo Iañez’s photographs. From landscapes to a vase of flowers resting on a table, to the girls he photographs are enveloped in golden beams of light that bring our minds back to summer.
