Zoomorphic characters intent on cooking a tasty dish, the recipe states that in the soup one of the ingredients is starlets, in the pantry they are out of stock then the only solution is to go directly to space to get them. The best ones are on Saturn, just a stone’s throw from the ever kind “Lady Venus.” This tender and fantastic journey is narrated by Italian illustrator and cartoonist Alberto Rebori, who from Feb. 16 is exhibiting a selection of original works at the exhibition “ABBIAMO FINITO LE STELLINE,” presented at Libreria Corraini 121+, Via Savona 17/5 in Milan.
Alberto Rebori’s works imagine a journey that starts from the kitchen and arrives straight into space, in which fantastic animals and creatures intervene, which, as happens in the best fairy tales and children’s stories – or seemingly so – are never what they seem, with their wacky and surreal desires.
Cooking becomes a theme, told with the lightness of water colors, sketches or the narrative patterns of comics. The exhibition will be open until April 8, to dream of stellar (not starred!) dishes and discover the work of one of Italy’s most talented cartoonists.
