«A table designed for family dinners that end badly». That’s how designer Anthony Authié, the mind behind Zyva Studio, describes The Boxing Dinner, the installation presented at the Mercado de Abastos in Logroño during Concéntrico 2025. A project that turns domestic conviviality into a scene of confrontation, where affection and conflict literally clash between dishes.

The octagonal structure echoes an MMA ring and blends with the wrought iron architecture of the market, evoking a contemporary Greek agora where dialogue is replaced by confrontation. The atmosphere is theatrical, radical, and at times ironic, enriched by pop culture symbols that form the backdrop to a ritual as common as it is explosive: the family dinner.

At the center of the scene, four courses created by chefs Gabriel Fellous and Victor Mizreh mark the “rounds” of this encounter. The flavors are intense, the staging provocative, and the line between art performance and gastronomy (as well as design) becomes increasingly blurred. The Boxing Dinner thus becomes a sharp satirical reflection on how — even in everyday gestures — deep tensions lie hidden. A design gesture that becomes storytelling, between caresses and low blows.
