Imagine strolling through the heart of a tropical jungle, surrounded by colorful fruits and enveloping fragrances. Now imagine that this jungle is not just a dream but a wonderful project created by Janneke de Lange, transforming ordinary baby strollers into vibrant botanical gardens. Yes, you read that right! The strollers are turning into mobile greenhouses that host exotic fruits.

Since childhood, the Netherlands-based designer has had an unconditional love for greenhouses and botanical gardens, considering them magical places. Stepping into a glass palace on a cold day is like being catapulted into another world: warm, humid air, the scents of damp earth, and lush vegetation inviting exploration. So why not bring a bit of that magic into our everyday lives?
Tropical fruits are the perfect symbol of collaboration between nature and human taste. Each bite is like unwrapping a precious gift, revealing unique flavors and textures. The idea of picking these fruits and witnessing their growth is an experience that can transform our daily lives into an adventure. Janneke has decided to create her personal Garden of Eden, a tropical paradise she dreams of nurturing.

Since the climate in the Netherlands is not ideal for tropical plants, Janneke had a brilliant idea: to build a portable nursery by recycling baby strollers, giving birth to the project “FRUITURE NURSERY.” These small mobile greenhouses are not only eco-friendly but also bring a touch of creativity to gardening. The glass domes, made using the copper foil technique, create a fascinating atmosphere, while the fabrics from the strollers become the perfect base for the nursery.
But that’s not all! The project does not stop at cultivating plants: Janneke has also designed the interior spaces within the glass domes, creating an architecture that intertwines with nature. She has crafted porcelain models using artisanal techniques to represent future visions of surreal architecture, where fruit plants grow in harmony with their environment.
