PIX – the collaborative photography project published by Spotz – is launching two of its latest zines: PIX 038 by Joe Skilton and PIX 039 by Alexa Chung. The launch event will take place on Thursday, August 24 at Tenderbooks in London, offering an opportunity to gather a creative and diverse audience and showcase the latest editions of the PIX series.

All zines in this series are published by Spotz, a publishing house founded by Pete Voelker, specializing in visual storytelling. The new editions will be available in a limited run of 500 copies each, with high-quality images curated into meaningful sequences.

Since 2019, PIX has represented a unique experiment in visual dialogue, inviting artists to respond to an initial image through their personal perspectives. Each zine, curated by Pete Voelker, collects 30 responses, creating an unprecedented visual conversation. Alexa Chung brings her distinctive touch to PIX 039, enriching PIX’s commitment to artistic collaboration. Joe Skilton, a photographer born in York and based in London, is known for his deep connection with his subjects, always able to produce emotionally profound images.

«PIX is about creating connections. When you see an image that strikes you, it makes you think of another—it’s that visual spark, that conversation between images. I wanted to bring artists together in a way that was organic, fun, and stimulating,» says Pete Voelker.

The project, therefore, offers a space where photography and community intersect, giving both emerging and established photographers a platform to get noticed. Over 600 artists have participated in PIX publications, including previous covers by Ryan McGinley, Marie Tomanova, Michael Northrup, Farah Al Qasimi, Peter Sutherland, and Ethan James Green.
