Carlo Amen, the Picasso of tattoos

Carlo Amen‘s art is based on the use of a few colored lines that give shape to faces, bodies, essential natural elements reminiscent of drawings made by children.
Carlo Amen is an artist and tattoo artist who was born in a small village in the north of France and grew up in a family of artists, where he immediately began to give vent to his creativity and flair.

After spending several years traveling the world drawing, painting and tattooing, Carlo Amen is now co-owner of the tattoo studio Les maux bleus in the Parisian Marais district.

His clients’ faces become the canvas of his works, ranging from small and minimal tattoos made with a single color to larger and more challenging ones that can cover the entire back. The reference to cubism and artists such as Mirò, Kandinsky and obviously Picasso is obvious: squared shapes, the anatomy that does not respect the real one and colors used following his own sensations.

The simplicity and the playful aspect of his creations have led Carlo Amen to experiment with other art forms as well. Today, in fact, in addition to tattoos, his works can be found on canvases, walls, design objects such as cups and vases, but also on clothing and skateboards.
