Photographic research, huge cataloging projects, inspiration and archive of images. All these are some of the features of Phaidon books, a publishing house specializing in beautiful volumes on art, design and good taste.
Phaidon has recently presented the catalog with all the releases for the first half of 2022, which includes books of history and criticism about photographers, designers, architects and chefs, as in the case of “Italian Breakfast“, the volume edited by chef Ferran AdriĆ , one of the greatest exponents of molecular cuisine.
In addition to other titles dedicated to cuisine, such as those that explore Portuguese gastronomy and gluten-free dishes, the Phaidon catalog includes interesting monographs on artists. Among these are the names of Jean Jullien, Nicolas Party, Ugo Rondinone, Nichetto Studio, Louis I Kahn and Lorna Simpson, the first Afro-American woman artist invited to the Venice Biennale (1993) and the first to have a solo exhibition at MoMA in New York.

For fashion enthusiasts, also coming out in early 2022 will be a volume on Yves Saint Laurent’s beautiful museum in Marrakech.
Immersive is also the reading of “Jens Risom, A Seat at the Table“, a book that traces the career of one of the designers who first introduced Scandinavian style to the United States. Among the titles there are also moments of criticism, as in the case of the book dedicated to the work of Faith Ringgold, a great documentary work through works that testify to the feminist and civil rights battles from the post-war period until today.
Books should never be judged by their cover, but for “Iro,” the book that delves into the meanings of colors in Japanese design, we can safely make an exception.
