Changing Your Perspective is the impressive Reporter Magazine’s ADV

Claudia Fuggetti · 3 years ago · Art

Changing Your Perspective advertising campaign was created by creative agency Y&R of Prague for Reporter Magazine. The magazine is a monthly newspaper that deals with topics like politics, economy and other social dynamics.

The scenes have been articulated in such a way as to create an impact “bomb” effect, which cannot fail to remain impressed on the reader’s head. Each image represents a controversial topic, in particular, it includes three that have been debated inside the magazine for a long time during the year. In the first image “Questioning Neo-nazism” one of the nazi-skin turns back to distance himself from his companions during a political rally. In “Questioning Radicalism” a girl isolates herself from the mass of believers: this scene is the strongest of the series because the woman’s face is totally uncovered, further behind the protagonist is the curious look of another faithful. Finally, “Questioning War” deals with the no less trivial topic of war.

Changing Your Perspective represents the media power, in this case of Reporter Magazine, in being able to convince the public and often to change their mind.

When a picture paints a thousand words.

When the body moves, Veks Van Hillik’s tattoos are transformed

When the body moves, Veks Van Hillik’s tattoos are transformed

Giulia Guido · 3 years ago · Art

If you are undecided on which design to tattoo, maybe Veks Van Hillik will be able to enclose all of them in a single one. The Toulouse tattoo artist has, in fact, found an ingenious way of enclosing two tattoos in one.

His masterpieces of black ink are possible thanks to strategic positioning, for example, where the arms and legs bend. When the body moves, the designs change, forming a second tattoo.

For example, insects or butterflies open and close their wings, or almost surreal figures become fish.

Obviously, there is a lot of preparation for such work, but then the drawing on the skin is done exclusively by hand. This technique allows Veks Van Hillik to change his mind during the course of the work, in order to obtain the best optical illusion.

Yayoi Kusama reveals her skateboard line for MoMA in NY

Yayoi Kusama reveals her skateboard line for MoMA in NY

Claudia Fuggetti · 3 years ago · Art

MoMA Design Store in New York presents the exclusive skateboard line created by Yayoi Kusama. The collection is characterized by Japanese artist’s iconic polka dot and they will be protagonists of the limited edition. MoMA had previously produced some products dedicated to other important artistic personalities such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Each skateboard has been designed in two versions: one yellow and black, the other red and white, on a base of precious maple wood. This is a trend that finds its buyers in the radical chic havens or collectors in search of the limited edition, where the common objects become cult pieces to be exhibited in the living room. Recently, the illustrated children’s book Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity has also been on sale, which unfolds over 26 pages and tells the story of the artist from her childhood to adulthood. Skates will be on sale starting from October on the website of the museum shop, that you can find at this link.

You can explore the Yayoi’s world in our previous articles here and here.

Peter Dinklage in the first trailer of My Dinner with Hervè

Peter Dinklage in the first trailer of My Dinner with Hervè

Andrea Jean Varraud · 3 years ago · Art

My Dinner with Hervè is the new biographic film on the famous 1970’s dwarf actor Hervè Villechaize.
Villechaize was a French performer known above all for having starred in the television series Fantasiliandia (TV product of the ABC) and for having embodied the villain in the James Bond film: the man with the golden gun.
Unfortunately, success has dragged the actor into an abyss of depression and drug abuse that led him to premature suicide in 1993.
The famous French character will be played by the star Peter Dinklage (the beloved Tyrion Lannister of the cult series Game of Thrones). The direction and script will instead be handled by Sacha Gervasi (best known for the biopic on Alfred Hitchcock). Andy Garcia, Oona Chaplin, Mirelle Enos, and Harriet Walter will also be on the set. What’s more, the film is an HBO production which, frankly, is a guarantee for success.
Unfortunately, we do not know yet if this film will be released in Italy, but we know that it will make its debut on the American network on October 20th. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the trailer below.

Short video for Breakfast – One Small Step, no dream is impossible

Short video for Breakfast – One Small Step, no dream is impossible

Giulia Guido · 3 years ago · Art

Luna, a little girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut, is the protagonist of One Small Step, the first animated short produced by TAIKO Studios.

Luna is supported by her father who works repairing shoes to maintain them. Growing up, the little girl to whom we become attached at the beginning of the video is facing every kind of challenge, trying not to lose hope and continue to believe in her dream.

It’s a universal story that comes straight to the heart. As a child, each of us dreamed of becoming a footballer, a teacher, a doctor or an astronaut just like Luna. Some have succeeded, others have changed their dreams, others have stopped fighting for it.

What leads to the realization of a dream is a continuous path of obstacles, an endless race in which you participate alone, against no one and at the same time against everyone. Against everything.

Who knows if the little protagonist will be able to get to the Moon, to take that small step.
