“TAIÑ MAPU / Our Land” is the latest work by the Chilean artist INTI presented at the 6th edition of the project “Out in the Open” at the KIRK Gallery in Denmark.
“I have worked with warm colors and spiritual symbols since this is part of our history in Chile. In general, I like to challenge the spiritual – not religiously, but as a reference to our culture and then mix it all up”.
The mural symbolically connects two very distant nations, Denmark and Chile, the way both countries are very attentive to environmental issues and how to preserve nature and original cultures.

“As I begin this mural in Denmark (a country known for its environmental policies), the Mapuche people in Chile continue their historic struggle for their land. The Aalborg mural explores the common ground between two distant cultures. Where there seem to be mainly differences, both countries maintain a relationship of respect and harmony with the land that we inhabit and that lives in us”.
Today more than ever, according to the artist, we must learn from those who have managed to live in balance with our ecosystem. How to maintain a close bond with nature and treat it with care like a mother holding it in her arms.
