If there is a magical-looking object, it is definitely the kaleidoscope. The play of light and color that is created inside it leaves you speechless and rotating its mechanism to discover its next shape becomes almost an addiction. 
With her latest work entitled It Wasn’t Us, German artist Katharina Grosse has succeeded in creating a giant kaleidoscope in which to walk. 

Starting from the interior of the old Hamburg station in Berlin (now converted into a museum), Katharina has created a painting that covers every surface, from the walls to the floor, to the sculptural elements in the center of the space. 

But the scope of her work does not end there, in fact, It Wasn’t Us knows no limits or boundaries and, precisely for this reason, the painting of a thousand shades continues outside the building, expanding to the outside. 

Katharina Grosse’s work is not only to be admired from afar, but it must be experienced first hand by immersing oneself completely in it and the visit will turn into a journey of discovery of the different facets of It Wasn’t Us. 

Just like a kaleidoscope, the painting will change shape and appearance according to the movements and the point where it is looked at.
