Copenhagen Art Week, Wood and Harrison’s Signs

It is the last day of Copenhagen Art Week, which as every year opens the dances to a new season in the art world. This year, the undisputed novelty was the new Enter Art Fair next to the historic Chart. It was Enter Art Fair sculpture project that promoted the work ‘12 signs for a park’ by the British artist duo John Wood and Paul Harrison represented by Basel-based Swiss gallery Von Bartha. Known for their use of words – but not only, think of their video performances or their neon lettering – the works of the duo Wood and Harrison are ironic and conceptual with the intention of questioning the obvious or underlining the predictable. The typically British sense of humour is perceptible and these phrases made us smile but also reflect. After all, you will forget this day – as one of the signs on display until today 1st September in Copenhagen reads.
