On the occasion of the release of Drake’s latest album “Certified Lover Boy”, the Canadian rapper had collaborated for the cover with none other than Damien Hirst. The cover designed by the British artist featured 12 emoji of pregnant women, quickly becoming one of the most talked about covers at the time of its release and the basis for memes of all kinds.
Now Hirst has unveiled the “Great Expectations” series, a collection of 10,000 NFTs that create as many variations of the CLB cover. In the artwork, women are modified by small details such as skulls, bows, glasses or hats, or with backgrounds made by Hirst.
The real news about “Great Expectations” is that the artwork will be available to everyone, free of charge for those who purchased Damien Hirst’s July NFT collection titled “The Currency“.
“my hope is that with this free gift you can all share and feel the excitement I feel about NFTS and the digital world, and here it is and I fucking love it!” said the artist explaining the meaning of the project, also promoted by Drake.
In the post published on Instagram, Hirst explains well the intentions of the project, of the will to make it “optimistic and hopeful, international, incredible but also timeless”.
All the details to get one of Hirst’s NFTs inspired by “Certified Lover Boy” are here, while some users have already put their copy on sale for almost four thousand euros.
