October 17, 2018, NASA published a photograph of a tabular iceberg on Twitter: its perfect and sculpted shape has stunned the whole world, where climate change is associated only with catastrophic or post-apocalyptic visions.

French visual artist Hugo Livet, after seeing this image, immediately wondered if the ice formation was not the work of man. But no, nature proved to be able to surprise by demonstrating that the universe and the Earth are governed by orderly chaos. The artist tells:
“The first thing that came to my mind while looking at the picture was ‘who did that?”
And that’s how Hugo decided to create a series to celebrate the beauty and perfection of nature, called “Derivé”. Through the photomanipulation of blocks of ice that he found on photo sites, he was able to recreate an artificial world that makes us reflect on the thin line between what is the result of human intervention and what exists in nature.
