Not only musical events and concerts have been able to resume their activities, but also an endless series of appointments and festivals linked to the world of art now have the opportunity to reopen their doors to the public. One of these is Disegnare il territorio – Festival dell’illustrazione, which will start on Saturday 24 July and end on Sunday 1 August.
This is the first edition of this event that aims to reveal all the secrets of the world of illustration through the works of some of the most interesting and well-known Italian artists, but also thanks to a busy programme that includes exhibitions, meetings, workshops, laboratories, talks, drawing sessions, aperitifs and dinners with the authors.
The six protagonists of Disegnare il territorio will be Massimo Caccia, a contributor to Corriere della Sera and the supplement laLettura, who depicts a bewildered animal world caught in improbable situations of everyday life, Cecilia Campironi, who explores the relationship between image and word, making fun of the literal meaning or distorting its meaning, Il Borse, who with pen and pencil gives life to flying, imaginary and fantastic cities, Giulia Neri, with her visual, intimate and poetic metaphors, SeaCreative, a street artist representing a fantastic and visionary world, and finally Gianluca Folì, who recounted his stay in Ossola in a diary of images.
The backdrop to the event will be the beautiful city of Domodossola, which has made available spaces such as the Collegio Rosmini, where the exhibition will be set up, with about twenty works by each artist, as well as the Portfolio “Castelli del feudo borromaico”, 6 limited edition plates of 50 copies created by the guest illustrators of this edition, telling their own story of the castles of Arona, Angera, Cannero and Vogogna.
