Edo Rath is a Dutch artist who moves effortlessly from street art to paper, bringing various mediums into his work. After spending three years traveling across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, in 2019 he returned to the Netherlands with a wealth of experiences and inspirations that definitively shaped his visual language, imbued with happiness and positivity. Along the way he has painted walls in more than 14 countries, coming into contact with different cultures, illustrators, street artists, and local talents who have left a profound mark on his practice.

Self-taught and driven by an insatiable curiosity, Edo Rath has continued to experiment beyond the boundaries of the street, embracing paper art and then digital art—disciplines that now sit alongside his mural and studio production. His imagery is populated by crisp lines and bright characters that communicate happiness: lighthearted visuals that leave room for the viewer’s imagination. In short, looking at his works means rediscovering a carefree spirit.

His is a meticulous, perfectionist exploration of technique, yet with simple and direct aims: to surprise, to offer positive distraction and, above all, to make people happy. Today, Edo Rath works from his new studio in Amsterdam, while his works continue to appear in various parts of the world.
