There are many photographers who specialize in only one genre, or who decide to photograph only one subject. Some prefer landscapes, others interiors, some desolate scenarios and others focus on people. Then, sometimes, it happens to meet an artist who sets no limits. One of these is Emanuele Di Mare, a young photographer who lives and works in Milan and is able to try his hand at portraiture and street photography.
The relationship between Emanuele Di Mare and photography was born a few years ago, in 2015, dedicating himself to landscapes. After a short time, however, there was a change from the latter to urban contexts and environments. Observing people walking the streets, Emanuele manages to capture forever moments capable of enclosing all that movement and frenzy that one breathes in big cities.
But, as mentioned before, Emanuele has not set himself limits and, starting with his friends, he has entered the world of portraiture. Today each of his shots is the result of careful and meticulous work that starts with the choice of the model and ends with her characteristic trait, the light.
In fact, whether it’s a street, a profile, a crowd or a close-up, in each of his photographs you can notice particular attention to the light, obviously natural, and the colors it gives to the subjects.
After having seen and discovered Emanuele Di Mare’s work on his website and his Instagram profile, the most striking aspect is to discover that his technique and his choices are the result of a self-taught path, supported by manuals and, of course, the internet. Precisely because the internet has been of fundamental importance in his path, for the past year Emanuele has been giving unmissable advice and mini-lessons on his YouTube channel.
