Chris and Fei Precht are two architects, husband and wife, who in 2017 moved their practice from China, precisely from Beijing to Austria.
A radical change in their lives, to get closer and closer to the generation that wants to use architecture to create a new environmentally friendly future. Together they created a project called “Farmhouse” for city dwellers who want to reach “the sky” and be close to nature at the same time.
A bit like they did in Milan, in the recently built building called “the vertical forest”, the couple try to carry on their idea of architecture and sustainability.

Farmhouse is a modular structure, consisting of “A” shaped structures designed in cross-laminated timber. Each wall has three layers. The inner decorative layer supports the electrical and plumbing connections, the middle layer provides insulation, and the outer layer is where gardening takes place.

A well-designed structure with attention to detail, a perfect solution for nature lovers who have to live in the city for work or family reasons.
A project born for personal needs and motivations, tired of living in polluted and chaotic environments, the couple has thus found a perfect solution.
The structure is modern and self-sufficient, in fact, there is the possibility to create their own personal garden. And it is also customizable, each resident can in fact choose how many modules to use and whether to create apartments with a private or communal garden.
You can also choose how to manage waste, water treatment, hydroponics and solar energy systems.

Chris Precht says: “It is clear that we have to find an ecological alternative to our current food system“.
A profound change awaits us so that every citizen can be self-sufficient and always have fresh food available, without ever neglecting the ecological component, the environmental impact of every home is practically zero.
