Game Changer, Banksy’s artwork for NHS heroes

Giulia Pacciardi

After “My wife hates it when I work from home“, the work of about twenty days ago with which Banksy turned the bathroom in his house upside down, the Bristol artist returns with a new artwork related to the health emergency that has stopped the whole world.

Game Changer, the name of the poster of about one square meter, has been hung on the walls of the emergency room of Southampton Hospital, England, and is a tribute to doctors and nurses of the British health service committed to safeguarding the lives of patients affected by the Covid-19.

The poster, representing a child who instead of playing with Batman and Spiderman makes a nurse fly like a superhero in the classic Superman pose, is accompanied by a dedication left by the artist:

Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it’s only black and white.

The work, says a spokesman for Banksy, will first be on display inside the hospital and then auctioned to raise funds for British health service charities.
