Elia Colombo aka Gebe and his philosophical illustrations

Elia Colombo aka Gebe could very well be defined as a philosopher-artist.

After passing from the Politecnico of Milan to the faculty of philosophy, Elia decided to attend a design school and to make illustration his job, becoming a freelance designer.

Despite this, his passion for philosophy is reflected in his work.

The research process of the idea is a phase of immense introspection. Once the inspiration comes, Elia can imagine the final product, drawing it first on paper and then transforming and perfecting it on Adobe Illustrator.

With irony, sarcasm, and color, Gebe tackles social habits, institutions and the social media with a critical tone. Elia wants to make people think, try to make them think differently.

See more of Elia’s work on his Instagram profile or on Behance.

Air Ship, a submersible-shaped house to build wherever you want

Air Ship, a submersible-shaped house to build wherever you want

Giulia Guido · 1 year ago · Design

If what you are looking for is a bit of relaxing, then the Air Ship is perfect for you.

Designed by Roderick James Architects this small submarine-shaped house is the perfect place to reflect and contemplate. The architects’ studio is specialized in small-house or cabin projects. The particularity of this one is that thanks to its aluminum components, it can be dismantled and reassembled where it is desired. Furthermore, given that it is a modular construction, the dwelling can be of any length.

A prototype of the Air Ship was mounted in Scotland, within the Eagle Rock park, yet another has been positioned in the Sussex countryside.

The bold collages by Stephen McMennamy aka Combophoto

The bold collages by Stephen McMennamy aka Combophoto

Giulia Guido · 1 year ago · Design

I propose again an artist of which we have already spoken, but which continues to fascinate and to gather followers on Instagram. I’m talking about Stephen McMennamy aka combophoto.

We can see that with the passage of time his technique and the quality of the photos have improved. In fact, contrary to when he started, where he used the I-Phone to shoot and the PicFrame app to create the collage, now he is armed with a professional camera and Photoshop. It is thanks to this what now his collages touch perfection, almost coming to no longer seem such.

So, let’s lose ourselves in a world made of dogs with a head of cauliflower and brushes with bristles of spaghetti.

The Art Food Project, when design meets food

The Art Food Project, when design meets food

Giulia Guido · 1 year ago · Design

In an age of rediscovery of the culture of food, the design world could not be attracted to culinary art. With the Art Food Project, an experience conceived by the Pratt Manhattan Gallery and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the expression playing with food acquires a new meaning.

Aimed at students from schools all over the world, this international project aims to create unusual and original ceramic tableware. These little masterpieces are not seen as simple tools, but as a real part of the recipe, objects on which the creations of chefs and food stylists are exhibited and presented.

The ceramics must enhance the experience of eating and highlight, as the frame for the painting, the work that has the task of showing.

A vreathtaking view for elegant Villa K by KO Studio

A vreathtaking view for elegant Villa K by KO Studio

Claudia Fuggetti · 1 year ago · Design

Villa K is the new project created by French team Studio KO and is only half an hour’s drive from Marrakech, outside a small town called Tagadert. The peculiarity of the structure is a breathtaking view that overlooks the Atlas mountains and fully represents the stylistic and aesthetic approach of French studio: a mix of refined minimalist elegance and a particular attention to those that are the characteristic elements of the Moroccan tradition.

In fact, the entire villa includes two structures arranged on one floor, according to the customs of the place. The chromatic harmony and tonal juxtapositions to the landscape are not random: for example, the external walls have been rendered in a pale earthy color that takes up the color gradation of the surrounding land. It is not difficult to imagine to spend, inside Villa K, an exclusive and relaxing holiday between a drink and a dip in the pool, looking towards the wild and fascinating hills of the Atlas Mountains.
