There are three paintings created by Giovanni Copelli for Magliano that depict the Autumn-Winter 2023 collection. Three fragile faces engaged in chasing the brand’s identity, born in 2016 from an idea by Luca Magliano. Writers, workers and outsiders portrayed in completely ordinary places. And where else but in a location we can only imagine, like the Bologna?

The interior settings are accompanied by a scenery composed of cats, flowers, and cigarettes. The gazes of the characters portrayed by Copelli seem to look inside us, while the clothes perfectly describe the Autumn-Winter ’23 collection presented last January.

A collection that embraces fragility – never completely concealed – reflecting introspectively. The same jackets we find in the portraits – with adjustable buttonholes and pockets – are present in the collection, engaging in transforming the structure of great classics. There are also old military blankets that become coats, and reconditioned cashmere garments, conveying an idea of elegance that is also evident in Copelli’s paintings.
