In Simone Crestani's hands, glass can take on any shape, even that of beautiful bonsai, as in the Glass Bonsai collection.

Let’s go back to talking about an artist who creates unique glass sculptures, Simone Crestani. This time to capture our attention is the line of sculptures entitled Glass Bonsai.

Playing with the malleability of the material and using a technique of lampworking, Simone manages to give the glass the shape of beautiful and fragile transparent bonsai. Every single wood grain and every single branch are carefully studied and made and the transparency of the glass conveys the sensation of purity typical of these small ornamental trees.

Their shape has proved to be perfect for Simone’s art, because they have a solid base, which is raised and divided into dozens of small branches.

Simone Crestani describes the choice of this subject in this way:

“The bonsai is the symbol of my work; it is the art of giving form, with respect and full understanding of what I am taking care of.”
