The sensual illustrations by Hugo Devoucoux

Hugo Devoucoux needs only two colors to create masterpieces. Trained in graphic design at the Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués in Paris, Hugo Devoucoux is a French artist who decided to devote himself entirely to illustration. His works mix different elements but remain delicate and simple, with a few well-calibrated elements. Undisputed protagonists are nude bodies entwined in passionate and intimate embraces. Particular importance is given to the sculptural forms and poses of the bodies that recall the imagery of Ancient Greece or the Neoclassical period. These figures are sometimes only partially visible, while at other times they are immersed in environments with which they interact, creating areas of shadow and light.

From a chromatic point of view, Hugo Devoucoux’s art is based on the contrast between pink and blue. These two colours are declined in a thousand shades and used in different ways. Sometimes they reflect reality and pink is used for the covers and blue for the background or the sky, while at other times Hugo applies an inversion and we find blue bodies illuminated by a pink background.
