Paulo Abreu is a Brazilian photographer and visual artist capable of creating unique and surreal atmospheres, generating questions in the viewer about the essence of human existence. In his work he uses mixed techniques and generates melancholic universes where figures are the undisputed protagonists of the scene.
In his art, Paulo deals with themes such as loneliness, suffering and anguish, and he does so through the narrative of the human figure. Like statues, his subjects stand in space, contemplating their surroundings and supporting each other with stateliness and fragility. They are solitary, solemn figures who share their pain and recognise it as part of the human experience.
