Dee Jay Park, DJ and turntablist from Trieste class 1994 on turntables since 2011, has collected live openings of international artists of the caliber of DAS EFX and national artists such as Kaos One, Colle Der Fomento, Salmo, Fabri Fibra, Tormento and Bassi Maestro.
While maintaining its strong hip hop roots it ranges between the latter and funk/soul by publishing various mixtapes.
Last week he released a beautiful new mixtape for Deda, a sequel entirely dedicated to the Italian artist who together with the “Messaggeri della dopa” wrote the history of rap in Italy.
Deda for those who don’t know him is an Italian disc jockey, rapper and record producer, also known as Chico MD, pseudonym of Andrea Visani. One of the main exponents of Italian “old school” hip hop, he has linked his name to characters and formations such as Isola Posse All Stars, Sangue Misto and Merde & Melma.
In 1993, together with Neffa and DJ Gruff, he created Sangue Misto with which he released in 1994 the album SXM considered by critics one of the most representative albums of Italian hip hop.
In fact, it marked the history of old school rap in the late ’90s.
The mixtape according to Dee Jay Park is a tribute, tribute, recognition to one of the greatest rappers that the hip hop culture has given us. “The photography of an extraordinary era, a happy season made of sharing and suggestions both artistic and human, of genuine jam and spontaneity, so much spontaneity: Deda aka Chico MD Tribute Mix tells, immortalizes and is above all this”.
