Immanuel Kant concluded the Critique of practical reason with a phrase that later became famous, unfortunately, thanks to the Italian brand Baci Perugina:
“Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and steadily we reflect upon them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me”.
We can describe Leabidu‘s work as the fresh, disengaged and pop visual translation of Kant’s quotation, because just looking at the artist’s images one realizes that the fusion between our inner world and the immensity of the universe is possible. Art manages to accomplish incredible spells, overcomes the limits of reason and makes real what would be impossible.
Leabidu’s singular women are apparently icy, blue-skinned characters, reminiscent of Meeme, the alien we find alongside Captain Harlock.
The dimension of the dream is accentuated by the call of romantic, introspective and ethereal atmospheres. If you still don’t follow this artist, the time has come to do so, here you will find on Instagram.
