It’s called Les Yeux des Tours and it is the latest series of photographs taken by Laurent Kronental to tell the story of Paris seen through the eyes of its tenants.

Driven by the nostalgia for his youth and a strong sense of curiosity, he asked the inhabitants of Tours Aillaud, the famous and strange towers built by architect Emile Aillaud between 1973 and 1981, to enter their homes and photograph Paris through the strange windows of their apartments.

The 18 towers, built in the post-war economic boom, are a series of reinforced concrete cylinders covered by the giant colored mosaics of the artist Fabio Rieti to make them look like clouds that merge with the surrounding sky.

Inside these buildings there are 1600 apartments, characterized by the particular geometries of their windows, some more squared and others similar to the shape of water droplets.

Photographs that seem stuck in time, able to tell an intimate and mysterious story.
