Moritz Adam Schmitt is the perfect example of how the path to success is rarely a straight line. An illustrator and artist from Cologne, Moritz began drawing at a young age, but his journey towards a professional career has been filled with detours and new discoveries. Since 2017, he has worked as a freelancer and now boasts collaborations with renowned names such as Adobe and Microsoft.

His love for digital graphics began in 2007, when he first discovered Photoshop and started exploring photo editing. The turning point came with Adobe Illustrator: after initially struggling, Moritz took on the challenge of creating one illustration a day and sharing it on Instagram for an entire year. In just 365 days, he gained over 20,000 followers, mastered Illustrator, and found his true calling. This visibility allowed him to get noticed by many people, leading to an invitation to Adobe MAX in San Diego and the start of collaborations with major international clients.

His works are distinguished by a vibrant color palette, dominated by bright yellows and soft pinks. Inspired by artists like Warhol and Basquiat, Moritz blends pop and street influences to create illustrations that are both accessible and immediate. Recently, he felt the need to return to his roots: instead of delving deeper into artificial intelligence, he decided to focus on canvas painting, which he describes as a form of therapy and a way to reflect on social issues such as respect, freedom, and equality.
With a constantly evolving career and a curiosity that drives him to experiment with new forms of expression, Moritz Adam Schmitt is an example of how it’s possible to reinvent oneself and find one’s voice while staying true to who you are.
